Kia is also a great alternative from the Asian manufacturers. I was recently looking at Headquarter Kia in Atlanta at a Sorrento.

[..YouTube..] Many (15) years ago an uncle has a Kia, that was a crap car, but few (5) years ago my mom buy a new brand Kia (Rio) and let me tell you people my mom is a car-killer and this car has passed the test of destruction, and I mean my mother. I personally recommend this brand because it has proven quality and durability assembler. Of course it is not Mercedes Benz or BMW, or Porsche and never will, but it is a good brand.

[..YouTube..] I rented a Kia Forte earlier in the summer and really loved the way the car handled. It seemed to have plenty of pep & there was plenty of room inside. It didn’t feel like a cramped little car at all. My only complaint was that I couldn’t figure out how to work the windshield wipers and there was a blind spot with the head rests when backing up. I also later rented a Kia Rio and it was a piece of junk–it was a bare bones car and I hated driving it. It also did not ride/drive smooth.

this thing may be 2844 lb. (+256), but its making a higher amount of torque (167) at a lower rpm (4k)! I drive an h22 accord myself, but damn, kia’s come a long way, haha. (info extracted from edmunds.com)
maybe its just my muscle cars that makes me respect that number, or that i’ve always hated civics (and their drivers), but this is a pleasant surprise.
[..YouTube..] Revival? How about just plain vival? I bought a 2002 Rio Cinco, and as of Dec. 2010, it’s still running fine. It was considered junk by many at that time, but I liked it and it’s proven to be a good car. This was all part of Kia’s consistently improving product. There is no revival, Ms. Presenter. It’s been a steady climb right from the start, and in another 4 or 5 years, I’ll certainly put Kia at the top of my shopping list.

[..YouTube..] Yeah, but this car a great for a first time buyer, kia helps a lot of people with no credit get into a car. Pay it off in three to four years and your credit is a lot better. Think about, 13k with a downpayment of lets say 4k, remember, no credit so it has to be high. You will pay 9k in about 3 to four years and then you could sell it and go buy your better car with your good credit. Credit building is not overnight you know?

[..YouTube..] @rollercoastersrock I don’t know that I even noticed what version it was as I was not really that knowledgable about Kia’s in general then. It did have power locks, electric windows, & cruise control so it was maybe not the cheapest version. I read that cruise control was not even an option for the Rio until 2010 so I likely drove a 2009 Rio that 2nd trip.
[..YouTube..] I was impressed with the front seat and 2 aux plugs. I like the red. I like Kia’s Corsa blue on the Optima Turbo.
[..YouTube..] Go for the SX if you want a sportier ride and acceleration, it is the sports model. The LX is the intro with basic features but you may add options/accessories. The EX is just and LX with some options as standard equipment. Just figure out what luxury items you would like and see which one comes standard with the most. If you are into tuning the car at all, I’d definitely pick up the SX as its the favored by aftermarket manufactures.
